About Charles Williams II

Charles H. Williams was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on March 18, 1950. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1972 from the University of South Carolina, where he was a member of the honorary societies of Beta Gamma Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina in 1975.

Williams and Williams was formed in 1975 by Charles H. Williams and his father, Marshall B. Williams, Sr. Marshall B. Williams, Sr. served in the South Carolina Senate from 1953-1995, and was President Pro Tempore of the South Carolina Senate from 1989 until his death in 1995. Charles H. Williams is married to Karen J. Williams, who is the former Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit of the United States Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Orangeburg County Bar, South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, American Board of Trial Advocates, Litigation Counsel of America, South Carolina Super Lawyers, and American College of Trial Lawyers.

Charles H. Williams represents individuals in plaintiff’s civil litigation, class action lawsuits, and criminal defense. He practices in both state and federal courts, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. He, for over 20 years, has been rated AV in Martindale-Hubbell.

Charles H. Williams has been active in community affairs, President of the Red Cross, a member of the United States Civil Rights Commission, a member of the Board of Trustees at South Carolina State University, 1986-2008, member of Board of Trustees, University of South Carolina 2010, and active with the Boy Scouts of America.
