About Jeffrey Goodman
Jeffrey specializes in employment, class action, trade secret, shareholder and oppression, commercial and defamation litigation. Jeffrey is regularly retained to act as an expert on Canadian employment and labour law in international and domestic litigation and is quoted on these topics by both the media and the courts.
Jeffrey is a prolific author and speaker, having presented before numerous organizations and conferences around the world and having authored, co-authored and/or edited numerous legal texts, papers and articles on a wide range of employment, human rights and labour law issues. He uses his strong business sense to provide his clients with strategic, practical and timely advice. In addition to being exceptionally responsive and accessible, he is dedicated to understanding his clients’ particular business needs and is committed to recommending the best possible course of action.
Jeffrey spent six years teaching employment law at Queen’s University Faculty of Law and was a member of the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario’s Practice Advisory Committee for six years. Jeffrey has completed Harvard Law School’s Lawyers’ Mediation Workshop. He is among a select few senior Canadian lawyers elected to the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
Jeffrey is one of the founding members of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and is one of the firm’s representatives on a number of diversity-focused organizations. Jeffrey was the co-chair of the organizing committee of the American Bar Association’s Thurgood Marshall Dinner, a leading diversity event where he introduced the keynote speaker, Madame Justice Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada.
