About Mukti Patel

Mukti Patel was born in Navsari, India. Her family immigrated to the United States in the 1980s. She grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and she graduated from DePaul University in 1997 with a major in Finance. In 2002, she received her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. After graduation, she moved to Augusta, Georgia, to join her husband, Devesh Patel, who was finishing up his residency program at the Medical College of Georgia. After passing the Georgia Bar Exam in 2002, she joined the District Attorney’s Office and prosecuted a variety of cases for 6 years. In 2009, she joined the Bush Law Firm, where, in addition to conducting real estate closings and probate matters, she practiced criminal defense and family law. In 2019, she formed Mukti Patel Law, LLC, and is currently practicing criminal defense and family law in Federal and State courts of Richmond, Burke, Columbia, and McDuffie County. She also practices business law and probate matters. She is also a registered and certified mediator for general civil, domestic relations, and domestic violence cases. She has mediated cases in Superior and Magistrate courts of Richmond, Burke, and Columbia County. 

Mukti is a member of the Augusta Bar Association, Georgia Bar Association, and Augusta Criminal Defense Lawyer Association. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Augusta and is currently a Board member for the Greater Augusta Arts Council. She is an active member and past President of the Hindu Temple Society, Inc., where she attends temple with her husband, Devesh Patel, and three girls.
