About Charles Abut
Charles C. Abut is a Certified Matrimonial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is a cum laude graduate of Columbia University (B. A.) and Cornell Law School (J.D.). Mr. Abut has successfully mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases. He is a court-accredited mediator by the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts. He has also litigated a number of cases resulting in reported decisions, including Piscopo v. Piscopo, Rogers & Hammerstein v. Gilchinsky and Jacqueline Onassis v. Christian Dior. He has lectured for the New Jersey Judicial College and is a frequent lecturer for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Education. Mr. Abut has published articles in the New Jersey Law Journal and New Jersey Lawyer, and has made television appearances on ABC, CBS, MSNBC and CNBC. He has been quoted in publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and the Bergen Record. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Abut was on active duty with the United States Army Military Police.
