About Anthony Capozzi
Mr. Capozzi clerked for Judge Omer Poos of the United States District Court, Southern District of Illinois. In 1973, he moved to Fresno, California and served as the Supervising Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of California. Mr. Capozzi also served as an instructor for the Department of Justice Advocacy Institute in Washington, D.C. and as an adjunct professor at San Joaquin College of Law in Clovis, California. In 1979, he moved to private practice and opened the Law Offices of Anthony P. Capozzi.
Anthony P. Capozzi has earned a Martindale-Hubbell rating – AV. He has served in a leadership capacity on numerous local, regional, state-wide, and national organizations. In 1999, Capozzi was elected President of the Fresno County Bar Association. In 2000 he began serving a four-year term on the California Bar’s Board of Governors. in 2003, he was elected the 79th President of the State Bar of California. In 2005, he began a two-year term as Co-Chair of the California Bench Bar Coalition. In 2006, he became a Fellow in the American Board of Criminal Lawyers. He has served on the Judicial Council of California and as Chair of the State Bar of California’s Law School Advisory Committee. In 2010, Governor Schwarzenegger appointed Capozzi to the Commission on Judicial Performance.
Mr. Capozzi, aside from practicing law, also serves as the exclusive legal and political analyst for KFSN-TV ABC 30. He too has been heavily involved in local, state, and national politics since 1973
Mr. Capozzi is licensed to practice law in the states of California, Illinois, and Ohio. He is admitted to practice in all federal districts in California. He too is admitted in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
