About Mark Katz

I have practiced law in Connecticut since 1972. I clerked in the Stamford Superior Court and practiced part-time, then handled litigation and criminal defense work for another firm for four years before establishing my own practice. Many of my clients have stayed with me for over 40 years. They know that they will get straight advice, personalized service and true advocacy.

I have served as an arbitrator, a mediator, a special master, and an attorney trial referee. I was always one of the first local attorneys appointed by the court to pioneer these programs, and I encourage clients to explore alternative dispute resolution. Seeing the legal system from those perspectives has also made me a better counselor and trial lawyer to my clients.

My practice is not limited to any one area of the law. Very often, legal disputes are intertwined with business or personal interests, and overlap with other legal disciplines. My diverse experience allows me to look at your case from different perspectives to identify those tangential issues and foresee potential conflicts.

I have guided clients through business formation, real estate transactions, commercial contracts and all manner of related disputes. I have litigated multimillion-dollar probate cases. I have represented men and women in divorce, including cases involving ownership of a small business and other complicating factors. I have helped clients fight insurance companies in personal injury lawsuits or deal with DUI arrests and criminal charges. I am confident that I can handle pretty much any legal matter.
