About Stephanie Gilbert

Stephanie Gilbert has always wanted to work as a lawyer helping her community. She has worked towards this goal long before law school by serving in the University of Illinois Pre-Law Club. Stephanie went on to graduate from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. This gives her a unique ability to empathize with her clients with the goal of minimizing the trauma of divorce and child custody proceedings. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. Stephanie is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, and Phi Alpha Delta: Story Chapter.

Before joining Kiswani Law, Stephanie worked as a law clerk for various private law firms.  As well as the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office.  She focused on family law and commercial litigation throughout her undergraduate and law school studies.

Stephanie understands that while some cases require aggressive advocacy and litigation, other cases benefit from a more cooperative approach to minimize time spent and involvement of the courts. Stephanie earned her certificate in mediation from Gaffigan Mediation in February 2019.  She did this to better pursue both litigation and mediation of family law cases.

When Stephanie is not in court, she also enjoys drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.  Her goal is to help clients and their families better prepare for the next steps in their lives.
