About Jason Smith

Jason David Smith, founding attorney of The Smith Law Office, PC, has been practicing in northeastern Oklahoma since graduating from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2003. A registered patent attorney, he first attended graduate school with research focusing on cellular and molecular biology and then attended medical school prior to his decision to practice law. Before opening his own practice in 2006, most of his legal work focused on civil litigation and family law.

When it comes to criminal defense matters, Jason applies the same level of diligence that he brought to patent/intellectual property cases and civil litigation to the examination of the state’s case against his clients. He researches all available evidence, listens to the defendant’s side of the story and employs strategies that are aimed at providing the best possible outcome for that particular client’s case.

Beyond his law practice, Jason is deeply committed to serving the local community. He operates Jay Pet Food Pantry, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides assistance to local families who need help providing food and essential/emergency veterinary care for their pets. He also has served since 2009 as the municipal judge for the city of Colcord, and he was city attorney for Colcord from 2010 to 2014.
