About Jerome Strickland

Jerome Strickland has over 40 years of trial and appellate experience and concentrates his practice on business/commercial litigation, and personal injury defense. However, he has tried antitrust, air pollution, age discrimination, wrongful death, construction, mining, personal injury and wrongful death cases to a jury. He has defended class actions in state and federal court.

Mr. Strickland has been a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers since 1984 and served as the Georgia State Committee Chairman. He has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America for business litigation for over 20 years and was selected by Atlanta Magazine as one of the “Top 100 Super Lawyers in Georgia.”  He served as chairman of the Advisory Group on Civil Justice to the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Georgia. As an appointee of the Governor, he served for eight years as a member of the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission.

Representing the Macon Judicial Circuit, Mr. Strickland was elected for five successive terms as a member of the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors. He also was a member of the Georgia Bar’s Disciplinary Board, the Commission on Continuing Lawyer Competency (chairman) as well as a trustee of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and a fellow of the Georgia Bar Foundation and its treasurer.

Representative clients include:  Georgia Power Company, the Southern Company, BellSouth, Texaco, Inc., Shell Oil, Marathon Oil, BASF Catalysts LLC, BP America, Inc., Engelhard Corporation, Genworth Financial, Life of Virginia, SunTrust Bank and Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc.. Strickland has been a partner at Jones Cork, LLP since 1970 and has continuously served on its Executive Committee.

Mr. Strickland served as general counsel and director for the Macon Chamber of Commerce, an elder of the First Presbyterian Church, trustee and moderator of Central Georgia Presbytery, and trustee and chairman of the Board of First Presbyterian Day School.
