About Nysha Cornelius
Founder, Paschal O. Nwokocha is a graduate (Cum Laude) of William Mitchell College of Law, University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Seat of Wisdom Seminary, Owerri, Nigeria. Before starting the firm, Paschal Nwokocha was the Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota.
In 2011, Mr. Nwokocha received a Superb rating (10/10) by AVVO, the largest directory of Attorneys in the United States, based on peer and client reviews as well as his contributions to the practice of law. Mr. Nwokocha has served as counsel to a U.S. Fortune 500 company, and has successfully represented businesses, organizations and families on various aspects of immigration law before the Office of Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Board of Immigration Appeals, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the Department of Justice.
Paschal Nwokocha has taken over seventy cases to trial, including winning unanimous jury verdict.
He has successfully challenged the Immigration Service actions before the federal courts. He has a number of published and unpublished Board of Immigration Appeals, State, Federal Court decisions to his credit. He co-wrote an Amicus brief to United States Supreme Court. Notably, he has been the counsel of record to some published decisions from the Federal Court of Appeals, including Ntangsi v. Gonzales, 475 F.3d 1007 (8th Cir. 2006).
Mr. Nwokocha has been called upon often to train and educate other lawyers at Continuing Legal Education sessions on immigration matters, written articles on immigration related subjects, spoken at community events, and appeared on Public Television, Voice of America, and the BBC. He has served on the board of several immigration organizations.
He previously served as the Chair of the Minnesota/Dakota chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), an organization of more than 11,000 immigration lawyers and professors in the United States, from 2008 to 2010, as well as served as the AILA liaison with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the DHS Office of Chief Counsel.
