About Nigel Mendez
Nigel is an associate with Carlson & Associates, Ltd. Nigel is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School. Nigel practices in the areas of community association law, municipal law, land use, civil litigation, insurance defense and subrogation and collections.
During law school, Nigel worked as an extern for the Honorable Robert Blaeser, 4th Judicial District and was a Law Clerk at the League of Minnesota Cities. Nigel was also a member of the Intellectual Property Moot Court at the University where he was able to intertwine his pre-law school employment.
Prior to law school, Nigel worked as a Lead Software Engineer in Cambridge, MA where he also attained his graduate certificate in Software Engineering from Harvard University. Nigel is currently admitted to practice in all Minnesota State and Federal Courts, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Supreme Court, and the Mille Lacs Band of Chippewa Indians Tribal Court.
Nigel is active in CAI-MN. He is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the Legislative Action Committee and a frequent presenter on various HOA topics. In the past he was the Chair of the Educational Committee, a member of the Communications Committee and wrote the ‘Ask the Attorney’ column in the Minnesota Community Living magazine for over six years
