About Mark Makower

Mark Makower is the founding partner of the firm who retired after practicing law for more than 30 years. Mark received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan and went on to graduate from University of Michigan and Washington University with a J.D. in 1980.

Mark is the only community association lawyer in Michigan to be a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He is also one of only a select few lawyers in Michigan to be a member of the College of Community Association Lawyers. He served as Chairman of the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property Law Section and was responsible for the substantial rewrite of the Michigan Condominium Act in 2001 and 2002. He has been a frequent speaker on community association law for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Real Property Law Section of the Michigan State Bar, Lorman and Community Associations Institute, and has written numerous articles on condominium law in national and local publications. Mark has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” by Michigan Super Lawyers continuously since 2008.

Mark enjoys traveling, golfing, boating and spending time with his family.
