About Peter Keith

Mr. Keith is a partner at Gallagher, Evelius & Jones, LLP and specializes in civil litigation. He has been an active practitioner in federal and Maryland state courts since 1980. Mr. Keith worked as an Assistant Attorney General of Maryland from 1984-1988, and prosecuted major white-collar criminal theft cases during Maryland’s savings and loan crisis. From 1988-89, he represented the U.S. House of Representatives in a federal judicial impeachment, making him one of the few lawyers in our country’s history to have served as a prosecutor in a U.S. Senate impeachment trial. Mr. Keith’s practice includes handling employment, medical, trust and estate, constitutional, environmental and commercial cases for businesses, hospitals, colleges, local government and other clients. He has taught Pre-Trial Civil Litigation since 1990, has also worked with law students and faculty on death penalty cases, and has lectured extensively on various litigation topics. Mr. Keith received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Virginia.
