About Christy Mcmannen

Christy McMannen graduated from the University of Virginia in 2002, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Women’s Studies. She obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School in 2007.  During law school, she served as Senior Notes and Comments Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, in which her case note entitled, “Can Seamen-Employees Reap the Monetary Benefit of Their Own Negligence?: The Fifth Circuit’s Answer in Withhart v. Otto Candies, L.L.C.,” was published in Volume 30.  Christy also interned for the Honorable Edwin Lombard of the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal during law school.

Prior to law school, Christy taught algebra and geometry at an underserved high school in New Orleans as a corps member for Teach for America.  Christy has also served as in-house counsel at a Louisiana oil and gas services firm, supervising preparation of title abstracts in advance of oil and gas exploration activities.  Christy joined Christovich & Kearney in 2007, and practices in the area of defense litigation.
