About Michelle Kniess

Michelle Kniess devotes her entire practice to family law in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Her practice focuses on custody and parenting time, spousal maintenance, child support, and property valuation and division, including business interests. Michelle practiced as a business litigation attorney, and then as a family law attorney for several years, prior to opening Kniess Law, LLC. Michelle volunteers as an attorney through the Hennepin County Unbundled Legal Services Project and is a member of the Volunteer Lawyer’s Network.

Michelle received her Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005 and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2002. She is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association, the 19th District Bar Association (Washington County) where she was the former Secretary/Treasurer, the Minnesota Bar Association, and the Wisconsin Bar Association. Michelle is licensed to practice in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Additionally, she was named a Rising Star by Minnesota Law and Politics magazine every year since 2011.
