About Kevin Smith

Kevin G. Smith has represented clients in wrongful death matters, fall downs, accidents involving cars, bicycles and pedestrians, sexual abuse lawsuits and insurance coverage disputes. His legal experience, together with his excellent academic background, make him a significant asset to our law firm.

For the last two years, Connecticut Magazine has publicized Smith as a “Rising Star”, based on his 2016 and 2017 rankings by Super Lawyers, a respected rating service.  Notably, that distinction is only awarded to lawyers falling within the top 2.5% of “up-and-coming” attorneys in our State.

In addition to his bar admission to the state and federal courts of Connecticut, Smith is admitted to practice in both the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribal Courts. He is also an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, an organization dedicated to the rights of injured persons, and he has been appointed to serve on its Membership Committee.

Clients will be impressed by his legal knowledge, attention to detail and enthusiasm. Indeed, as a result of these attributes, he was able to settle three difficult fall down injury cases: $90,000 for a broken wrist suffered by client who slipped in chocolate syrup drippings when walking on the Mohegan Sun casino concourse near the Ben & Jerry’s restaurant; $125,000 for a fractured ankle after a fall on an icy sidewalk at the Gales Ferry Post Office; and $135,000 for wrist fractures and other injuries after client fell down an open staircase located near the hostess station in a busy Putnam restaurant.

Smith graduated from Guilford High School and then attended Providence College where he studied Political Science and Sociology. While at P.C. he interned at a domestic violence shelter and was active in Amnesty International. He received a B.A. degree in 2007. He then attended Syracuse University College of Law achieving significant academic success, becoming a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif and serving as the Notes and Comments Editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce. His diligence and talent landed him in the top 8% (14/182) of his class. He capped off his law school honors graduating magna cum laude in 2010.

He is also a proud supporter of the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and he actively volunteers his time to them through Young Leaders United, a leadership group for volunteers under 40. Kevin was born and raised in Guilford. He resides in Glastonbury with his wife and son.
