David Tang
About David Tang
David K.Y. Tang is the managing partner, Asia for the firm and his law practice concentrates in the areas of foreign investment, cross-border financings, mergers and acquisitions, and real property related transactions. He has more than 30 years of transactional experience in the Greater China market. David was managing partner of Preston Gates & Ellis LLP from 1995–1999, a predecessor law firm to the formation of K&L Gates LLP. He was named in the China Business Law Journal’s A-List: China’s Elite Lawyers (Foreign Firms) from 2018–2020, and is also included in Best Lawyers and the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers for Corporate Law and Real Estate Law.
Among his activities, David served on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco from 2002–2008 and as its chair from 2006–2008. He currently chairs the American Bar Association Task force on Trade in International Legal Services.
