About Carl Seneker

Since joining the firm in 1971, Kim Seneker has represented clients in a wide variety of complex commercial real estate transactions. Kim has practiced in both the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices of the firm, and he served as the chair of the firm’s Real Estate Group for a number of years before retiring as a partner in 2007. Since that date, Kim has been acting in the role of senior of counsel for the firm.

Kim’s practice remains centered on the negotiation and documentation of commercial real estate transactions, as well as the delivery of related advice and assistance to clients in the areas of real estate entitlements and development, construction, investments, joint ventures, lending, leasing, workouts and restructurings, and project operational matters. He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of real estate law, land use, and zoning and environmental matters, as well as complex secured and unsecured financing transactions and troubled debt restructuring.

Kim’s practice has spanned a number of cyclical turns affecting the real estate markets, and he has worked on some of the most sophisticated projects and transactions in both recessionary and growth environments. Over the years, Kim has worked on development, lending, investment, and leasing transactions involving properties and projects valued, in the aggregate, in the billions of dollars. Kim regularly supports the firm’s real estate attorneys on client matters requiring special senior guidance or involvement.

Kim also has represented clients in both Northern and Southern California on a variety of high-profile office projects and industrial facilities, and he has acquired significant experience during several recessionary periods in handling a large variety of debt restructuring, workout, foreclosure, and loan enforcement matters on behalf of an extensive number of local, regional, national, and foreign banks, securitized investment vehicles, insurance companies, pension funds and advisors, investment funds, special servicers, and other participants in the real estate financing markets. He has also represented large debtor entities in their efforts to reorganize and restructure their real estate secured financing obligations.

Given his vast experience acquired over numerous years of practice, Kim is able to offer clients a unique perspective in the structuring and documentation of a wide variety of real estate transactions, and to provide top-level senior advice and assistance to clients in their real estate development, investment, leasing, and financing transactions as well as their property operations.
