About Brenton Allison

Mr.Allison is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas (since November 2003), the Southern Federal District of Texas (since February 2004), the Eastern Federal District of Texas (since November 2005), and the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (since August 2005). Mr. Allison holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation from Texas A&M University. He also possesses a United States Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer’s License (Third Mate, Unlimited Tonnage; Second Mate, Limited to 3000-gross tons; and a Master’s License for all vessels up to 1600-gross tons). Prior to law school, Mr. Allison served as a ship’s officer on board an oil tanker. Mr. Allison received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence with a Certification in Maritime Law from Tulane Law School in May 2003. Mr. Allison graduated Cum Laude from Tulane Law School and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal (Volume 27) during his third year. After graduation, Mr. Allison began his practice with Legge, Farrow, Kimmitt, McGrath & Brown, LLP, focusing primarily on maritime personal injury, cargo claims, mariner license defense, collisions/allisions, insurance defense, and employment law.
