About James Pikl

Mr. Pikl is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer. His practice emphasizes a wide range of commercial and consumer disputes, including class action and complex litigation involving multiple parties and claims. He is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Consumer and Commercial Law – one of only 73 lawyers in Texas holding this specialty.

Mr. Pikl Board Certification in Consumer and Commercial Law allows him to claim special expertise in the areas of law that specialty encompasses, including the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices – Consumer Protection Act, the Insurance Code, and the Uniform Commercial Code. In addition, he is experienced in federal and state laws dealing with commercial real estate, sales and leases, insurance (including bad faith claims), credit disputes, and collections.

Mr. Pikl represents both plaintiffs and defendants, and this broad experience enables him to understand and analyze both his client’s and his opposition’s positions for strengths and weaknesses, and thereby create winning strategies. “Clients have said my particular expertise is taking very complex facts and legal issues, and crafting them into terms a jury or a busy judge can easily understand.” Mr. Pikl has been lead counsel in dozens of lawsuits all over the U.S. and has participated in 36 appeals, many of which occurred in the Texas Supreme Court, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
