About Jean-Philippe Therriault
Jean-Philippe Therriault is a member of the firm’s Environmental, Energy and Climate Change group. His practice focuses on environmental, construction and public procurement law.
In environmental law, Jean-Philippe advises clients on compliance issues and helps them navigate the permit and approval process. He has extensive experience in commercial and real estate transactions involving environmental issues, including the management of risks associated with release of contaminants, contaminated soil and remediation work. He also represents clients in administrative and penal proceedings.
In public procurement matters, Jean-Philippe advises clients on the regulatory framework applicable to procurement processes, client and bidder obligations, and available recourses in case of disputes.
With respect to construction, Jean-Philippe assists clients in matters related to construction defects, project management and contractual obligations, including in the event of delays or suspensions of the work. He represents and advises institutional clients, contractors and suppliers in all aspects of construction law, including drafting, revising and negotiating construction contracts.
In energy law, he acts as counsel in regulatory and commercial matters. He also advises clients on institutional and legal reforms relating to power generation, transmission and regulation in emerging African countries.
Jean-Philippe is also active in our Montréal office’s Course aux stages recruitment process, currently serving as Co-Chair of the Recruitment Committee.
