About Evan Karmazyn

I am originally from Thornhill with a couple of pit stops in Toronto and Muskoka, but I now call Barrie my home. I have always had an interest in problem solving and helping others so a career as a family law lawyer was a natural fit.

I have a background in different areas of law having worked in two general practice firms before joining Chapman Steffler Law. I have experience in civil litigation, immigration, landlord and tenant issues and criminal law matters, but it was always the cases where I felt like I was able to make the most impact on the quality of a client’s life, that got me into the office early and kept me at my desk well into the evening.

While in law school I worked for a legal aid clinic helping low-income residents in the York Region. I also interned with Freedom House, a non-profit organization assisting refugees with their asylum applications.

When I’m not at the office or in Court, I’m looking for excuses to be active like playing hockey or snowboarding in the winter and tennis or golf in the summer. I’m also involved with several charities including Pet Cancer Fund and Barrie Big Brothers and I have recently become a registered wedding officiant in Ontario.

I focus my practice on treating every client with the same care and consideration as I would a member of my own family. I look forward to working with you and helping you through your legal issues.
