About Andrea Caskey

Andrea is a family law lawyer with over 30 years of experience advising and representing clients with respect to property, support and child-related issues.

In 1986, Andrea graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. (Honours) in Psychology. Following her undergraduate studies, Andrea attained her law degree from Queen’s University (1989) and was later called to the Ontario Bar (1991).

Andrea worked at the London Family Court Clinic, the London Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Centre and the Toronto Office of the Children’s Lawyer. Following her articling year, she was chosen to clerk for the Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice before commencing her legal practice with a focus on Family Law. In 1996, Andrea obtained a Certificate in Mediation Fundamentals from the Mediation Academy and has completed the coursework at York University in the part-time LL.M. Program, specializing in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

For over 12 years, Andrea worked at Epstein Cole LLP, one of Canada’s leading family law firms, on litigation files involving high conflict custody and access situations, as well as complex support and property cases, involving trusts, taxation and business issues. During her time at Epstein Cole LLP Andrea completed the Advanced Collaborative Family Law Training Program, joined Collaborative Practice Toronto and later sat on their Board of Directors.

Andrea witnessed firsthand how destructive the litigation process could be for families. As a result, she began to encourage more clients to resolve their issues using alternative dispute resolution. In the fall of 2011, Andrea left Epstein Cole to focus on resolving family law issues through negotiation, mediation and collaborative practice.

Andrea works with independent, legal, financial, family and child professionals who provide integrated collaborative and mediation services to support all aspects of separation and divorce. These professionals are committed to minimizing the emotional and financial costs of conflict. They help clients protect important relationships and create durable solutions in order to move forward with their lives.
