About John Moore

I take on discrete litigation matters in New York State Civil and Supreme Courts for businesses and individuals, winning money judgments and gaining favorable settlements for them. I provide litigation assistance to other small-firm practitioners. I also assist tenants in the city’s housing courts.

A graduate of Northeastern University School of Law, I helped found the Northeastern University Law Journal—a journal that emphasizes the practical aspects of progressive lawyering. I also provided research assistance for Professor Peter Enrich on a case he argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, Cuno v. Daimler-Chrysler.

At Northeastern, I participated in four, full-time internships of eleven weeks each working on substantive tasks with lawyers, firms, and government. I worked in the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office (E.D.N.Y.), as a judicial intern for Judge Dolores Sloviter (3rd Cir. Ct. of Appeals, Philadelphia), at Brody, Hardoon, Perkins, and Kesten (a Boston civil and insurance defense firm), and with the Suffolk County (MA) District Attorney’s Office.

In the past, I have enjoyed my volunteer work with the Bronx CLARO program providing consumer law advice to pro se defendants in Bronx Civil Court. I helped people answer their cases, make discovery requests, oppose summary judgment motions, and break contracts with unscrupulous debt consolidation companies. I also volunteered with the New York City Bar Association’s Consumer Bankruptcy Project helping pro se debtors complete and file their Chapter 7 petitions, and with the Civil Courts Committee, where I drafted an amicus brief in support of the New York Attorney General’s suit against the Northern Leasing companies.
