Joseph G. Butler is a sole practitioner in Westwood, Massachusetts with a general practice with a focus on commercial and consumer bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

Mr. Butler represents individual, corporate, and partnership debtors and creditors in all chapters of commercial and consumer bankruptcies and in litigation in the Bankruptcy Courts. Mr. Butler has served as a Chapter 7 trustee in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts since 1987 and has served as a Chapter 11 trustee in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and as a state court-appointed receiver of nursing homes and guardian ad litem in probate cases in Massachusetts.
