About Richard Pierce
Dick has been providing professional immigration law services for businesses, universities, organizations, and individuals for over 25 years. He has authored a variety of articles about immigration law and international trade.
Dick has lectured at Ave Maria School of Law, Eastern Michigan University, and Northwest Michigan College. He has spoken at business association meetings, educational settings and civic groups.
After graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University with a major in history, he went on to be awarded a Juris Doctor degree from the Northwestern University School of Law. He served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Washtenaw County, Michigan, for three years, and then entered private practice in Ann Arbor. He is admitted to all Michigan Courts, the Federal District Court for Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
A Member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Dick concentrates his practice in immigration and nationality law. He is an active Member of AILA’s Michigan Chapter, having served as Co-Chair of its INS (now USCIS) Liaison Committee, and Chair of its Michigan State Bar Liaison Committee. Dick is the Past President of the Washtenaw County Bar Association. For ten years, he chaired the District H Subcommittee on Character and Fitness of the Michigan State Bar Association.
