About Erik Blowers
Erik was born and raised in the rural part of Upstate NY and worked on a farm during high school. Erik comes from a strong working class family and was the first person in his family to go to college. His mother spent 23 years working for the United States Postal Service. Erik self-funded his education and attended the State University of New York at Brockport where his hard work and dedication led to earning his Bachelor’s degree in only three years. Erik was always one to help his community. In addition to his academics, Erik spent his college years working as an EMT volunteer with a local fire department where he responded to over 500 calls as medic-in-charge.
After earning his Bachelor’s degree, Erik immediately enrolled at Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio and graduated at 23 years old with his Juris Doctor degree. While in Columbus he worked for 2 years at the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. In 1989, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Special Agent. During his tenure in the FBI, Erik worked drugs/organized crimes and was extremely successful. Erik’s attention to detail earned him the supervisory position on the Evidence Response Team for five years that included many major crime scenes including two weeks at the Pentagon immediately following the attacks of 9/11. Based on his work effort and diligence Erik, was promoted to the General Counsel of the Charlotte Division where he handled both civil and criminal matters for over 5 years. He authored twelve (12) separate affidavits in support of electronic interceptions, commonly known as wire taps, one of the most sophisticated investigative techniques law enforcement employs. In 2005, Erik left the FBI and started his own waste management company. With only 200 initial customers he created a multi-million dollar company with 48 employees, 26,000 customers, and over 6 million dollars in revenue in less than 9 years. He sold his business in 2014 to a large U.S. national corporation.
After the sale of the business Erik’s passion to helping others led him back to the practice of law. Erik is a member of the Ohio Bar (inactive) and the North Carolina Bar. He resides in North Carolina with his wife of 27 years and his children. He is involved in his church and his community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Wesley Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Airport Chaplaincy, and a technology company in Charlotte. He is very proud of all of his children with his oldest son a police officer, his daughter a C.P.A., one son an oncology nurse, one son in law school, and one son in college.
