About Cesar Armstrong

Cesar A. Armstrong was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the United States following the political upheaval in Cuba in 1959. The family moved to Miami and later to Venezuela, and then to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and lastly to Boston, Massachusetts until they finally settled again in Miami for good. Naturally, Cesar A. Armstrong is fully bilingual. It was in South Florida that Cesar attended college at Miami-Dade College, where he was a writer and art director of the college “Southwind” magazine, and at Florida International University, where he graduated with honors in the field of Political Science and served as a Senator in the Student Government Association. His journey to law school took him to Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where he competed on behalf of the law school in state and national moot court and appellate brief writing competitions, securing his Juris doctorate degree in 1980. In practice since 1980, Cesar specializes in the area of workers’ compensation, and has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar since certification was first offered for workers’ Compensation in 1988. After serving as a law partner with his good friend George V. Lanza in the firm of Lanza, O’Connor, Armstrong, Sinclair and Tunshall, and heading the law firm’s workers’ compensation division, Cesar hung up the shingle of his new firm Cesar A. Armstrong and Associates, P.A. on January 1, 1990. The firm celebrated its 25th year of operation back in 2015. In the earlier years of his practice, Cesar represented primarily the Employers and their Carriers in workers’ compensation cases. Indeed, in 1998 he was recognized as the Employer/Carrier Attorney of the Year by his peers through the Friends of 440 Inc., an organization compromised of individuals of varied professions within the workers’ compensation system. For the last 17 years, however, Cesar has represented primarily injured workers, helping them to secure indemnity and medical benefits through workers’ compensation claims. Cesar is known for representing his clients with great zeal and passion, and takes pride in explaining to his clients the important details of their cases, the various unique laws that may apply and the options available so that the Client can feel empowered in making decisions.
