About Lawrence Bowles
Larry Bowles has practiced in the maritime field for more than 30 years, developing an expertise in marine casualty, insurance, products liability and environmental issues. Representing shipowners, charterers, insurers, manufacturers and other commercial interests, Mr. Bowles has built an international reputation as an aggressive and effective litigator. His trial experience has focused on collisions, groundings and other casualties, environmental damage claims, insurance disputes, product liability claims, charter party disputes and disputes concerning the purchase and sale of vessels. In large oil spill litigation, he has worked closely with clients and cleanup contractors in minimizing environmental damage claims and collecting contribution and/or indemnity from parties responsible for the spills. Where possible and in the interest of his clients, he has avoided litigation through successful negotiation of settlements or transfer of disputes to more advantageous forums. He has served as an arbitrator or as a mediator in a number of cases.
