About Kyle Baisley

Kyle A. Baisley concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial transactions for real estate, technology, banking/finance and firearms industry clients. He provides counsel for entrepreneurial and start-up businesses, prepares securities documents and filings and assists clients with estate planning. He also leverages his past in-house experience to serve as an outsourced general counsel to small- and medium-sized businesses.

Kyle has extensive in-house experience in the legal field and has reviewed, negotiated and/or drafted thousands of contracts covering a broad range of industries and subject matters. Kyle started his legal career in the courtroom, handling commercial litigation and assisting creditors in bankruptcy matters, which now allows him to better assist clients to mitigate risk and avoid litigation. He also is well-versed in firearms law and can assist clients that are involved in the firearms industry or that wish to form a National Firearms Act (NFA) gun trust.

Kyle is an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee College of Law, teaching Contract Drafting & Negotiation, and serves as an attorney-mentor for the UT Law Mentoring Program.

Kyle joined the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in 2008 as a Reserve Deputy and continues to assist the KCSO Regional Training Academy with legal and use-of-force training for local law enforcement officers. He also serves as the KCSO Reserve Unit legal counsel. Prior to joining the law firm of Long, Ragsdale & Waters, Kyle served as Associate General Counsel at Pilot Travel Centers LLC d/b/a Pilot Flying J.

Kyle, an East Tennessee native, lives with his wife, Mandy Baisley, and their son, Nolan, in Knoxville. Kyle is an avid shooter and enjoys participating in International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and 3-Gun competitions. Kyle also is a Level 1 certified CrossFit instructor and enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, backpacking and playing golf.
