About Kree Filer

Kree attended undergraduate school at the University of California at Santa Cruz. She graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Feminist Studies with a focus on law, politics, and social justice. Kree then attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. While at Loyola, Kree participated in the law school’s Innocence Project, where she assisted in habeas corpus petitions for incarcerated individuals. She also participated in the law school’s Juvenile Justice Clinic where she represented minors accused of serious offenses in juvenile court. Kree received her Juris Doctorate Degree in 2016.

After being admitted to the Bar, Kree worked as an Associate Attorney at FILER | PALMER, LLP, a law firm owned by her cousin, Attorney Lance Filer and his business partner, Attorney Justin Palmer. There, Kree gained valuable experience representing clients in criminal, family and civil matters, including personal injury and wrongful death.

After working at FILER | PALMER, Kree moved on to work as a staff attorney at the Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers, where she represented hundreds of clients who were accused of neglect and abuse towards their children.

Kree is proud to say that she is one of a long line of “Filer lawyers.” Her grandfather was Maxcy D. Filer, a very well-known civil rights activist in the City of the Compton. His name is etched in the legal history books for his perseverance, taking the California Bar Exam for 24 years straight before finally passing on his 48th attempt. Her father, Kelvin D. Filer, maintained a private practice specializing in Criminal Defense before being appointed as a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge. Her uncle, Anthony S. Filer, Sr., serves as the managing Attorney for Community Legal Aid SoCal Norwalk/Compton offices. As stated above, Kree’s cousin Lance Filer maintains his own private practice in Long Beach. Another cousin, Anthony S. Filer, Jr. recently passed the California Bar Exam and is pursuing his own legal career.

Kree’s mission with The Filer Law Office is to at all times, provide vigorous representation and seek justice. This is her way honoring her familial legacy and “changing her little corner of the world.”
