About Rob McAngus
Robert McAngus, is an attorney serving clients in the areas of family law, including divorce, custody, modifications, adoption, and child support.
Robert is a graduate of the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He practices primarily in the area of family law. He received his bachelor’s degrees from Baylor University in 1999 where he majored in Education and Music. After several years of teaching, Robert received his Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Educational Technology. He holds teaching certificates in Elementary Education, Music Education, and Secondary Math. He spent six years teaching both mainstream and gifted and talented students before moving into educational administration.
During law school, Robert clerked with Cooper and Scully and Ramirez & Associates. He was both a student attorney and a Chief Counsel in the SMU Civil Clinic, as well as a clerk for a Family District Court in Dallas County. Robert was on the Science and Technology Law Review, the Civil Rights National Moot Court team, and held positions as both a class representative and SMU Law Senator with the Student Bar Association.
Currently, Robert was a member of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Leadership Class 2013 and also a Vice-Chair on the American Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division Science and Technology Committee.
As an attorney, Robert has handled divorce, custody, modification, and child support cases. He is currently working on several Pro Bono cases through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and he has done volunteer work with Helping Hands and various community will clinics. Robert believes in giving back to the community with appreciation for all of the blessings in his life. Sharing his time and law expertise is how he can share his gifts with the community and hope to help and improve the lives of those in need during such a difficult time in their lives.
