About Neal Hyman

Neal Hyman was born in New York in 1970, but he and his family moved to Reno, Nevada in 1977 when his father took a job as a wallpaper and painting contractor for the MGM Grand. Neal graduated from Reno High School and went on to study criminal justice, business, and psychology at the University of Nevada (UNR), where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. While at UNR, Neal knew he wanted to be a lawyer.

Neal attended his first year of law school at Quinnipiac College School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut, achieving high grades and making law review. However, he desired to be back west, so he transferred with honors to California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. There he achieved high grades, made the Dean’s Honor List, was a member of the legal honor fraternity Phi Delta Phi, and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Federal Courts, the highest grade.

After law school, Neal moved back to Reno and clerked for Senior District Judge Peter I. Breen in Washoe County. He then worked for Hardesty, Bader & Ryan in Reno, where he handled various cases, including first amendment/media law, commercial litigation, and civil rights/discrimination matters. Neal then became a criminal prosecutor with the District Attorney’s Office in Reno, where he handled a wide range of criminal cases and served on the State Bar of Nevada’s Consumer Protection Committee and the Bruce R. Thompson Inns of Court.

Neal later worked for Blick, Doty & Gill in San Diego, where he represented large national and international insurance carriers on insurance coverage issues. In 1999, Neal moved to Las Vegas and began practicing construction defect law, representing HOA’s and property owners in various cases resulting in millions of dollars in gross settlements. He also handled insurance defense cases such as trip/slip and fall accidents at casinos/business properties and auto accidents. Neal started his own law firm in 2005 and has since handled a wide range of cases, including personal injury, construction defect, criminal defense, real estate, corporate/business, family law, wills/trusts/estate, collections, and some bankruptcy matters. He has obtained millions of dollars in gross settlements for his clients and has received various recognitions over his career, including being rated A.V. by Martindale-Hubbell and being voted a top Southern Nevada lawyer by Vegas Inc. in 2013, 2021, and 2022. Neal is licensed to practice law in Nevada and California and is committed to providing his clients with exceptional legal representation.
