About Marty Cohn

Principal Martin Cohn (“Marty”) has been practicing law for more than two decades. His extensive experience includes family law, real estate law, business litigation and select criminal matters. Marty is also a licensed real estate broker.

Marty’s motto is: “Tell me your problem, and I’ll find you a solution.”

Poised to tackle problems, while listening carefully in order to find solutions, Mr. Cohn emphasizes the “bottom line” in his approach. This has put him in the forefront of quick and fair resolution in the legal community. Marty is sympathetic and often brings his keen sense of humor to the situation to add some relief and help maintain equilibrium—a skill that is greatly appreciated by his clients.

Mr. Cohn began his law career with Harrison Bull becoming a principal in the firm Bull, Cohn and Associates in 1992. Following Mr. Bull’s retirement in 1998, the firm became known as Martin Cohn & Associates. Ms. Stewart joined Mr. Cohn in 2005 and they are now practicing principals with Cohn, Stewart and Associates.

Marty’s basic philosophy includes looking for ways to save the client money in their legal costs. He ferrets out viable, cost-effective solutions that leave the client with a better feeling of what lawyers do and how they accomplish resolution.

Marty attended the University of California at Santa Barbara and went on to study law at the Santa Barbara College of Law where he obtained his JD. He has been married for 28 years to Becky Cohn, with whom he shares a property management business. In his spare time, Marty has a passion for travel, cycling and outdoor adventure.
