About Jason Van Dyke

Team: The logistics and paperwork involved in handling a case is immense. Thus, an attorney must be incredibly organized or have staff in charge of keeping documents, evidence, and correspondence in order, so as not to misplace any information. At Marsala Law Group, we work as a team, which means you can be confident that we will keep your case files organized and that someone will be available to help with your every need. Trust: Not only are we very good at our job, but we also genuinely care about our clients and want to serve and defend them in the courtroom. Regardless of whether your criminal case is something as serious as a sex crime, DWI, or murder, or a less-serious matter such as a traffic infraction or suspended driver’s license, we will gladly help. In family law or personal injury cases, we will seek to understand your situation, and we truly want to help protect the best interests of you and your loved ones. In each case we handle, our Denton County attorneys go the extra mile and often stay after-hours to make sure the strategy we pursue for a client is as strong as possible. Whichever attorney you hire, ensure it’s someone you can trust.

Practice Areas

  • Criminal Defense
  • Mr. Van Dyke is an experienced criminal defense practitioner with years of experience representing Texans accused of a variety of misdemeanor and felony offenses.  Our approach to clients accused of criminal offenses is always to secure a dismissal or an acquittal. However, it should be understood that this is not always a realistic outcome. In those cases, we help our clients achieve the goal of protecting their freedom and reputation by securing the best possible result – and in many cases – achieving the opportunity to avoid a publicly available criminal record.

  • Commercial Debt Collection
  • Mr. Van Dyke stated his commercial debt collection practice as general counsel for Langbert Financial, Inc. in April of 2007. Since that time, he has served as general counsel for multiple commercial debt collection agencies in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and represented thousands of clients in the collection of B2B debts. Unlike some attorneys who believe their job stops when a court signs a judgment, Mr. Van Dyke aggressively utilized post-judgment collection methods such as receiverships under the Texas Turnover Act to help his clients get paid the amounts they are owed.

  • Juvenile Law
  • When your child is facing juvenile record, finding an attorney can be a daunting task. Mr. Van Dyke is the attorney in charge of all juvenile cases as The Marsala Law Group and has experience both in securing the release of children at detention hearings and ensuring that they are treated fairly in a system which – all too often – paints juvenile defenders with a broad brush. Mr. Van Dyke is successful because he is relatable to his clients and they trust him. If your child has had a brush with the law, call us today for a free consultation.

  • Expunctions, Non-Disclosures, and Motions for Early Release
  • It has often been said that the United States of America has the worst criminal justice system except for every other system which has been tried. It is a fact of life that good people sometimes make mistakes. It is also a fact of life that the criminal justice process is – in many respects – among the more stressful punishments a client must endure. There are times when an person accepts a plea agreement simply because the emotional stress of this process becomes too much to bear. Mr. Van Dyke wants to help his clients navigate the process in a manner that is as painless as possible. If you qualify, he may be able to help you obtain expunction or sealing of an adult or juvenile record, non-disclosure of a deferred adjudication judgment, and even early release from probation or deferred adjudication.

  • 2nd Amendment Law
  • Mr. Van Dyke is a Patron Life Member of the National Rifle Association of America. He is also a member of the Texas State Rifle Association, Texas Trophy Hunter’s Association, National Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited. Mr. Van Dyke is certified by the Ultimate Waterfowlers Challenge as a Grand Master Waterfowl Hunter and has registered a Grand Slam with the National Wild Turkey Federation. He is certified by the National Rifle Association as a pistol instructor and a range safety officer. There are a number of ways in which a person’s 2nd Amendment rights can come under attack. The problems can include erroneous NICS denials, harassment from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and fraudulently obtained restraining orders or “red flag” orders.  Some clients just wish to obtain assistance in legally acquiring firearms regulated under the National Firearms Act. Whatever you issue, Mr. Van Dyke is a lawyer who can help you.

  • Personal Injury
  • Mr. Van Dyke has represented a number of clients who have been the victims of drunk or dangerous drivers in automobile accident cases. If you have been injured, The Marsala Law Group offers reasonable contingent fee arrangements to help you recover the damages you are owed. Additionally, Mr. Van Dyke defends drivers without insurance coverage who are being sued by other drivers or insurance companies. An unpaid civil judgment for an automobile accident can result in the suspension of your driver’s license in Texas. If you have been injured, or if you have been sued for an automobile accident, call Mr. Van Dyke for a free consultation today.
