About Robert Cohen

Mr. Cohen was born in Hartford, and has practiced law in Bristol since 1977. He is a general practitioner in the broadest sense of the term. He has dedicated himself to providing all members of the community with a broad spectrum of legal services.

He has concentrated on real estate, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, formation and maintenance of small business entities, and trusts and estates. He has extensive litigation experience at all procedural levels, including successful trials and appeals, on issues covering virtually every area of legal practice. Mr. Cohen has held the position of arbitrator for contract disputes between the United States Postal Service and the Mail Handlers Union. In this capacity he has traveled all over New England and upstate New York hearing these labor disputes.

Robert Cohen is a graduate of Boston University (B.A. in History cum laude) and Union University Albany Law School (J.D.).

Mr. Cohen is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut, the State of New York, Federal Court in the States of Connecticut and New York, United States Tax Court, and the Tribal Court of the Mohegan Sun Indian Tribe.

Mr. Cohen is President of the United Synagogues of Greater Hartford, located in West Hartford, and he resides in Farmington with his Wife, Marilyn, and his two children, Sarah and Stephen.
