About Jerrold Engelman

Jerrold Engelman has lived and worked in Miami and Miami Beach since 1985 after practicing law in Connecticut for more than 10 years. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hamilton College in New York State and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Boston University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review.
In Connecticut, prior to relocating to Miami, Mr. Engelman focused his practice on commercial litigation and criminal defense. He tried numerous civil and criminal cases, including business, real property and telecommunications litigation, and successfully defended criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to homicide jury trials.
Mr. Engelman was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1991. During the period 1992 — 1994 he was in-house General Counsel for three privately held affiliated companies in Miami Beach: IGT Services, Inc., RMR Advertising, Inc., and Southern Playbill Publishing, Inc. In this capacity he was responsible for all legal affairs – corporate, real estate, litigation, and contracts — for the IGT Charge Card, its affiliated advertising agency, and Playbill and Metro Magazines.
During 1994 — 1995 Mr. Engelman was in-house Corporate Counsel in Miami for Don L. Motors and Solar Financial Services, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOFI). In this position he acted as litigation counsel for a public company that financed, sold and serviced used automobiles from multiple locations throughout South Florida.
