About Ivan Serchuk
Ivan Serchuk chairs the Firm’s Banking and Financial Institutions Practice Group. During the course of his distinguished career, Mr. Serchuk has served as Deputy Superintendent and Counsel to the New York State Banking Department, Special Counsel to the New York State Senate Banks Committee, law clerk to U. S. District Court Judge Frederick vanPelt Bryan, and on the Board of Directors of several banks.
Mr. Serchuk has for many years been top-rated in the banking and finance law areas by “Best Lawyers in America”, and as a result, the Firm has been recognized for its expertise in banking and bank litigation by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Reports, Corporate Counsel, and numerous other publications.
Mr. Serchuk specializes in bank regulatory matters but also has extensive experience in the mergers and acquisitions, corporate, employment, commercial lending, and litigation areas. He has lectured for the Practicing Law Institute and various trade associations and is frequently quoted in the financial press on current banking issues. Mr. Serchuk is a graduate of Columbia University Law School (L.L.B.), where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar, and Columbia College (B.A.).
Mr. Serchuk is admitted to the New York Bar.
