About Brian Rookard

Brian graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in mechanical engineering in 1996. Brian then went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University in 2006. Brian has been practicing in the areas of bankruptcy since 2007 and has branched his practice into the areas of civil, commercial, and probate litigation.

In the bankruptcy arena, he has handled consumer and business cases for debtors, including chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13, from the simplest bankruptcy case up through complex business chapter 11 cases. Mr. Rookard has defended debtors in nondischargeability and denial of discharge actions, including fraud, conversion, embezzlement, property settlement agreements in divorce, builders’ trust fund violations, preference and fraudulent transfer issues, and many other matters.

In civil litigation matters, he has represented a wide array of plaintiffs and defendants in both simple and complex matters, including breach of contract, business disputes, collection, fraud, business disputes, and probate matters.

Mr. Rookard has the compliment of his peers who often contact him to advise them on difficult topics as referring to him some of their more problematic cases. He is known for his forthrightness, candor and honesty by his clients, his peers, and the judges.
