About Jennifer Meister

Mrs. Meister began her legal career in 2010 as a clerk for the City Attorney of Traverse City in Michigan. In 2011, she moved to Florida and began working for the Department of Children and Families in the Children’s Legal Services division where she prosecuted dependency and termination of parental rights cases. She quickly advanced into senior and supervisory roles as her passion for child advocacy grew. In 2013, she joined the Office of the Attorney General where she litigated complex cases involving dependency, termination of parental rights, domestic violence injunctions, adoption, and paternity matters. She also handled several complex termination of parental rights appeals as a senior member of the appellate team.

Mrs. Meister graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law.

Mrs. Meister is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and its Family Law Division. She serves on the Executive Committee for the Family Law Section and frequently serves as a Guardian ad Litem. She was appointed to and currently serves on the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, Grievance Committee, which exists to hold attorneys to high ethical standards. Mrs. Meister has also held membership of the Stann W. Givens Family Law American Inn of Court of Tampa, Emerging Leaders Program with the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce and Working Women of Tampa Bay. She has served on the Heroes Ball Committee for St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Foundation raising funds and supporting the Pediatric Oncology Department.
