About Pamela Pedlow

Pamela J. Scannell Pedlow, moved from her native New York, with her husband and daughter in 1990. She received a BA in Literature and Professional Writing in 1983 from what was then Southampton College at Long Island University, NY; and a Masters of Art in Teaching from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY, in 1990. From 1990 to 2002, Ms. Pedlow taught in the Brevard County, Florida, school system. In 2002 she was admitted into the inaugural class at Florida International University College of Law.

While At FIU, she continued to teach full-time in the Miami-Dade School system, while attending law school at night. During her tenure in Miami, Ms. Pedlow clerked for a personal injury attorney; and also served as a union representative for the United Teacher’s of Dade, where she represented 18 schools, mediating and negotiating between teachers and administrators, and played an integral role in the Union’s quest for indoor air quality remediation and control.

Ms. Pedlow also interned at the County Court of the 18th Judicial Circuit in and for Brevard County during the summer of 2005. Upon graduation from FIU, Ms. Pedlow returned to Brevard County and worked as a legal analyst for the Harris Corporation where she gained valuable experience in contract drafting, negotiations, and litigation until 2008. In 2008, Ms. Pedlow established a legal services company, providing paralegal support on a contractor basis to firms handling personal injury, criminal, civil, and family law matters. In 2009, Ms. Pedlow was admitted to the Florida Bar and started her own firm.

Ms. Pedlow is also admitted to practice in the Middle District of Florida. She is Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator, a Family Mediator, and is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Parenting Coordinator.
