About Laura Schonberg
LAURA SCHONBERG is a native of Argentina where she began her studies toward a juris doctor degree at Universidad de Buenos Aires. Circumstances made her immigrate to the United States when she was 20 years old. Since then, and despite completing her studies, becoming a U.S. citizen, meeting the love of her life and raising three American born children in the United States, in her heart she has always felt “an immigrant.” While she is forever grateful for the opportunity and many blessings of becoming an American citizen and considers this country her forever home, she deeply understands the suffering and sacrifices of the many people who have been driven from their homes or taken the difficult decision to settle down in a new country looking for a better life.
Laura’s collaborative approach, her deep knowledge and experience in the field together with her empathy and respect for her clients make her lawyering style a unique and valuable asset.
Laura graduated Cum Laude from the Florida International University College of Law in August 2009 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in May 2010. While in law school, she received the Book Award in the Immigrant Children’s Justice Clinic, and was also recognized with the Excellence in Service to the Clinical Program Award, and the Dean’s List. Furthermore, she participated in the Whittier School of Law Summer Abroad program in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
In 2012 Laura partnered with Andrea to open Schonberg & Timerman, P.L. where she successfully represented hundreds of clients in obtaining U.S. visas, green cards, and citizenship.
Laura is a Notary Public of the State of Florida and is bilingual in Spanish and English with working knowledge of Hebrew and Brazilian Portuguese. She is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Today, Laura balances her job as an attorney at Schonberg & Timerman, P.L. with her love for traveling, yoga practicing, and raising her three children together with her husband.
