About Joshua Maines

Josh has recently joined The Cummings Law Firm, LLC. as an associate attorney, handling all criminal defense and family law matters for the firm. He represents clients in other practice areas as well, including real estate transactions/litigation, estate planning, corporations, contracts, and civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Josh spent five and a half years as a prosecutor for the Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office. In addition to prosecuting roughly a thousand cases in all phases of criminal prosecution, Josh routinely represented the Commonwealth in jury trials. Josh would go on to serve as Chief of the appeals unit, where he handled all state and federal appellate matters. All of his prosecutorial experience is now working to defend and protect YOU!

Josh obtained a B.A. in Political Science/Pre-law from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. At IUP, Josh served in the University Senate on the Academic Affairs Committee and served as President for the IUP Chapter of Pi Gamma Mu, International Honor Society in Social Sciences. Josh also participated in Pi Sigma Alpha, a Political Science Honor Society.

Josh received his Juris Doctorate degree from Widener University School of Law. At Widener, he attended evening classes while maintaining a full-time career in HR Management with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
