About Gerard Deffenbaugh

Mr. Deffenbaugh’s practice is focused in Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Trust Administration. He joined the firm in 2017 and became a partner in 2019.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Deffenbaugh practiced at Bryan Cave LLP (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP) for three years.
Mr. Deffenbaugh has co-authored articles published in the Colorado Lawyer including on trust interests in divorce proceedings. In addition, he has presented at continuing legal education programs on various topics.

Mr. Deffenbaugh is listed in Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star (since 2021) under Estate Planning and Probate. Mr. Deffenbaugh is listed in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (since 2021), in the field of Trusts and Estates and Elder Law.
Mr. Deffenbaugh is a Texas native. He earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010, and he earned his J.D. degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2014. Outside of the office, he enjoys hiking trails, experimenting in the kitchen, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
