About Andrea Dumais

Andrea L. Dumais is a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, graduating from Rhinebeck High School in Rhinebeck, New York. After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Union College and her Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law and began her legal career right here in Orange County. Andrea is on the Executive Board of the Orange County Bar Association, and she has been identified as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.

Andrea has practiced law since 2011 concentrating in the fields of matrimonial, family, and criminal law and she joined Strauss & Kallus in September 2019 (bringing with her Diane Gross as paralegal). Andrea prides herself in maintaining good client relationships and rapport. She believes that in any case involving families you cannot achieve the level of success necessary without the attorney and client working as a cohesive and trusting team.

Andrea has represented clients in both simple child support proceedings and complex matrimonials involving business valuation and distribution as well as stock option and deferred compensation marital allocation. In addition to matrimonial actions, Andrea has represented clients in multi-state and local custody and parenting time disputes, grand-parent visitation applications, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, same-sex family law issues, post-divorce modification and enforcement actions, guardianship proceedings and abuse and neglect cases.

Andrea has represented clients on felony-level arraignments, hearings, and trials which include but are not limited to major drug trafficking, conspiracy, murder, rape, misdemeanor level crimes such as DWI’s as well as violations such as unlawful possession of marijuana and traffic infractions.

In July 2021, Andrea will be named partner, reflecting her contributions to our firm and the outstanding results she has achieved for our clients.
